Business Checks Compatible With Accounting Software: How It Works
Software compatible checks are pre-printed check stock formatted to align with your accounting platform's check printing template. Your company name, bank name, routing number, and account number are already on the paper. When you run a print job, your software outputs the payee name, dollar amount, date, and check number into the correct fields.
The MICR line at the bottom, which carries your routing and account number for bank processing, is pre-printed to ABA standards. Your office laser or inkjet printer handles the variable output only. No MICR toner required for most setups.

Check Formats Available
Four layouts cover the most common software check printing setups.
Check on Top (Voucher): One check at the top of an 8.5 x 11 inch sheet with two perforated stubs below. Default format for QuickBooks, Xero, and most major platforms. Browse computer business checks for all available options.
Check in Middle: Check centered on the page with one stub above and one below. Standard for Deltek and some Sage 50 configurations.
Check on Bottom: Check at the bottom with both stubs above. Common for payroll workflows where employees see earnings detail first when opening the envelope.
3-on-a-Page: Three checks per sheet, no stubs. All records stay in software. Lower cost per check for high-volume AP operations.

When you place your order, you provide your banking details. Every check ships with the following already printed:

- True watermark visible from both sides when held to light
- Coin-reactive ink embedded in the stock
